Travis Kelce has come to the defense of Patrick Mahomes before the start of the NFL season – by insisting he has a dad-bod just like his teammate.
Mahomes went viral last year for his body when he was filmed addressing his team shirtless in the locker room after they beat Baltimore Ravens to reach the Super Bowl.
And now, with the Chiefs preparing to kick off the new season against the Ravens, Mahomes and Kelce were asked about that moment.
And Kelce gave an amusing response in an interview with the NFL, saying: ‘He ain’t the only one with a dad bod, I know that!’
He continued: ‘I think it’s fair. He’s a father of two now, right? Insert the dad bod.’

Kelce went viral earlier this year for his own physique when he was pictured on vacation with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
In the same interview, Mahomes joked: ‘I mean, it was a bad angle for me. People always joke around about the dad bod but it definitely became a thing.’
Speaking to TIME earlier this year, Mahomes said that his body shape actually helps him as a quarterback.
‘I have a great body for a quarterback. You’ve got to have some padding in there to take the hits that we take,’ he explained.
Mahomes and Kelce begin their season Thursday night against the Ravens at Arrowhead looking to become the first team in the Super Bowl era to achieve a ‘three-peat’.
