Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie is moving his arms and legs in a very positive sign after collapsing during Sunday’s game in New Jersey due to apparent back injury.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the good news on Monday, following the Broncos’ win over the New York Jets a day earlier.
Badie was stretchered off to the locker room in a neck brace and was swiftly ruled out for the remainder of Sunday’s game. Head coach Sean Payton initially offered no update following the game, but there has since been more encouraging updates.
Now, though, his mother Dr. Tanjala T. Gipson is thanking fans for their prayers.
Gipson posted a picture of herself attending Sunday’s game while wearing a t-shirt reading: ‘Let’s Go Ba-Day!’

‘This photo was taken just before today’s game’ the board-certified neurologist wrote on X. ‘God was good then, and God is good now. We may not know what the future holds, but we know Who holds the future. Thank you so very much for your prayers for our son Tyler Badie.’
The Broncos were due to return to Colorado around 7pm ET but it’s unclear if Badie returned to Denver with the team.
The terrifying moment came towards the end of the first quarter of the Broncos narrow 10-9 win over the Jets.
Slow-motion replays showed Badie landing awkwardly on his head and neck during a play for the Broncos against the Jets, before he managed to return to the sidelines.
Just seconds later, he collapsed to the ground while standing among his teammates, and medics rushed to his aid.

Shortly after, as the second quarter of the game began, Badie had a neck brace attached and was stretchered back to the locker room for further assessment.
He was then quickly ruled out for the rest of the game. The full extent of his injury remains unclear.
A Missouri product, Badie was a sixth-round draft pick in 2022, who was recently promoted to the active roster following some injuries in Denver.
Against Tampa Bay in Week 3, Badie rushed for an impressive 70 yards on just nine carries.
