Fabrizio Romano believes that Rangers are closing in on their ninth summer signing, suggesting that there will be a positive development at Ibrox soon.

New manager Russell Martin has already added several players to the Gers’ ranks as they seek to disrupt Celtic’s dominance of the Scottish Premiership as well as qualify for the Champions League.

Romano says that Mikey Moore could soon be making his way from Tottenham Hotspur to the Glasgow giants.

The transfer market expert says: “Rangers are optimistic of sealing all details of the Mikey Moore loan deal this week.

“No buy option, straight loan until June 2026 with salary covered as Spurs are set to give the final green light soon.

“Moore is keen on joining the Rangers project.”

Moore loan an ‘important’ move

Martin spoke of the possibility of Moore arriving at Ibrox during his pre-match press conference for the second leg of the Champions League second round qualifying encounter against Panathinaikos.

“There are lots of players we like, lots we’re linked to,” he said, not giving anything away. “Moore’s a really good player. If at any point he becomes a Rangers player, we’ll let you know.”

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, meanwhile, has confirmed Spurs’ willingness to make a loan deal happen.

I think if we can find the right option we will do that.

Speaking on Tuesday, he said: “It is very important.

“I’m really excited about his future here at Tottenham.

“I think for all players but especially younger players they need consistent first-team football into their bodies.

“I think if we can find the right option we will do that.”

Moore is regarded as one of Tottenham’s biggest prospects, with the attacker boasting an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €24m after making an impressive 10 Premier League appearances with the North London side last season.
