ROMELU LUKAKU silenced Tottenham’s taunts as Chelsea gave Antonio Conte a return to the Bridge to forget.
Spurs fans sung ‘He’s Inter Milan, he’s Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku, he’s Inter Milan’ in reference to his recent shock TV outburst.
But Lukaku, back in in the Blues line-up, shushed them after Ben Davies’ own goal made it 2-0 after Kai Havertz’s opener in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.
If Spurs’ fans weren’t gutted enough after Davies’ horror own goal, they then had Lukaku shushing them after the ball hit the back of the net.
And Antonio Conte’s side have got it all to do at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if they want to overturn the 2-0 deficit in next week’s semi-final second leg.
The 28-year-old striker was reinstated into Thomas Tuchel’s squad after being axed from the team for the weekend’s thriller against Liverpool.
Lukaku had a part to play in Chelsea’s second goal, winning the free-kick that ended up being diverted into his own net by Davies.
At the full time whistle, Lukaku spent time applauding the home crowd and gave a thumbs up to the Matthew Harding Stand.

And speaking after the game, Tuchel claimed Lukaku is ‘relaxed’, despite angering fans following his controversial interview, in which he expressed his desire to return to Inter.
He laughed as told Sky Sports: “Romelu rested himself for the last game.”
Tuchel then added on that the Belgian is: “Absolutely happy. I am sure he is not affected because I see him on a daily basis and even in recent days he seemed to be relaxed.
“He was fine with the situation, mentally moved on.
“Romelu can handle the pressure and adversity. It was a good performance, he contributed a lot to our defensive set-up. He got some chances and will go again.”
