Manchester United have been heavily active in the transfer market this summer despite previous concerns regarding the club’s financial situation.
United have agreed a £73.7million deal for RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko and have already brought in Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5million and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for £71million.
In addition, young defender Diego Leon signed for £6.5million from Cerro Porteno and there could still be further arrivals at Old Trafford before the closure of the transfer window.
As reported by The Telegraph, a cost-cutting drive has allowed United to be significant spenders.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe previously stated that United would have run out of cash by the end of 2025 if it hadn’t been for his cost-cutting measures.
More than 450 jobs have been cut at United in the past year, with the club saving tens of millions.

Clubs are limited to losses of up to £105m over a three-year cycle by the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.
United have also reduced their wage bill significantly by 21 per cent to £71.2million for the quarter.
Red Football Limited, a subsidiary of the United ultimate parent company, is registered in the Cayman Islands and listed on the New York Stock Exchange. This has been key in reducing costs.
The plc’s combined pre-tax losses over 2023-24’s three-year PSR cycle stood at £311.9m, while Red Football Limited’s pre-tax losses were just £200.6m.
By the end of April, United had drawn around £160m across their three credit facilities, which are believed to have an overall combined limit of £300m.
The payments for Cunha and Mbeumo will be made in instalments.
Marcus Rashford’s loan move to Barcelona, meanwhile, will save United at least £12.75million in wages this campaign.
United are also seeking to sell the likes of Alejandro Garnacho (who could join Chelsea), Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia.
Such sales could help to fund further signings for United, who have explored a possible deal for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba.
