Brazil are reportedly set to break with tradition and wear a red kit for the first time in over a century at the 2026 World Cup.
While Brazilian icons from Pele to Neymar have donned the traditional yellow attire, the new generation could be dressed in red at next summer’s tournament in USA, Mexico and Canada.
Brazil’s home strip is one of the most iconic in world football with the shirt symbolic of some of footballing greats and will remain yellow.
Rather it is their second kit which is facing a rebrand.
The Seleaco’s second strip will also see the current Nike branding dropped in favour of basketball legend Michael Jordan’s jumpman logo according to Footy Headlines.
They first wore an away blue kit in the 1930s and it has remained a permanent fixture since the 1958 World Cup.
Brazil are the most succesful nation in World Cup history, with five wins, but haven’t lifted the trophy since 2002.
They were dumped out of the last tournament after a shock penalty defeat to Croatia.

Their new away shirt would defy tradition and see the South American nation wearing red for the first time since the Copa America in 1919.
The exact design and precise shade of red is unknown but it will reportedly become available in March.
The Jordan collaboration comes months are Nike announced a 12-year partnership extension with Brazil, which would extend their relationship into a fourth decade.
At the last World Cup, the home kit was the nation’s traditional yellow and green, while the away kit sported the classic blue that has been their away shirt for every World Cup since 1954.
Both kits featured a jaguar-inspired pattern, with the design taking a more prominent role on the away kit.
The yellow of the home kit had a slightly brighter tone than the classic gold fans are used to.
Meanwhile, Brazil are looking for a new manager after sacking Dorival Junior following their 4-1 loss to arch-rivals Argentina in World Cup qualifiying.
