Ronaldo’s Two Serious Options After Cryptic Post on Al-Nassr Future

Cristiano Ronaldo has two ‘serious’ offers on the table ahead of next season, according to reports.

The 40-year-old is out of contract at Saudia Arabian side Al-Nassr next month, and yesterday hinted that he may have played his last game for the club.

Al-Nassr fell to a 3-2 defeat, in which Ronaldo scored the 800th club goal of his career, in the final game of the Saudi Pro League campaign.

Ronaldo’s side finished third in the league table behind champions Al-Ittihad and runners-up Al-Hilal, and following the conclusion of the season Ronaldo cast his future into doubt with a cryptic social media post.

‘This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all,’ Ronaldo wrote on his X account.

FootMercato are reporting that Ronaldo now has to decide if he wants to extend his stay at Al-Nassr, who he joined in January 2023, beyond this season, or move to rivals Al-Hilal ahead of the Club World Cup in the United States next month.

Last week, FIFA president Gianni Infantino sent tails wagging when he claimed that Ronaldo could play at the revamped competition this summer – despite Al-Nassr not qualifying.

‘Ronaldo might play for one of the teams as well at the Club World Cup,’ Infantino said. ‘There are discussions.’

‘There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup… who knows, who knows.’

While his current side will not be involved in the 32-team tournament, which includes Manchester City and Chelsea, Al-Hilal are going to be taking part.

According to the Athletic, the superstar’s representatives have expressed their unhappiness with Infantino’s comments on his future.

Ronaldo is said to have been close to agreeing new terms with Al-Nassr, but Al-Hilal’s interest has caused him to hesitate putting pen to paper.

Following the departure of Neymar Jnr, Al-Hilal have been seeking to add a big star to their ranks.

And now Ronaldo has a decision to make in the next few weeks as the Club World Cup looms.

Saudi Arabia is not the only possible destination for Ronaldo, Spanish publication Marca recently reported that an unnamed Brazilian club had tabled an offer to Ronaldo.
