WWE star Sonya Deville has revealed she is engaged to her “special” fitness fanatic partner in a heart-warming post.
The 27-year-old wrestler, real name Daria Berenato, shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday, posting a picture of her and her fiancée, Zahra Schreiber, embracing in a field of flowers.
“I said yes to my best friend, my ride or die, my soulmate,” she wrote. “I love you more than words can express. You are my everything.”
The couple, who have been together since 2018, have been open about their relationship on social media, often sharing pictures of their workouts and travels.
Schreiber, a former WWE wrestler and fitness model, also shared the news on her Instagram page, writing: “I said yes to my best friend, my ride or die, my soulmate. I love you more than words can express. You are my everything.”
The couple’s engagement comes after a difficult year for Deville, who was the victim of a home invasion in August.
The wrestler, who is the first openly lesbian female wrestler in WWE history, was held at gunpoint by an intruder who broke into her home in Florida.
The intruder, Phillip A. Thomas II, was later arrested and charged with armed burglary, aggravated assault and battery.
Deville has since spoken out about the incident, saying it was “the scariest moment of my life” and that she was “grateful to be alive”.
The wrestler has also been vocal about her support for the LGBTQ+ community, and has been an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.
In a recent interview, she said: “I want to be a role model for the LGBTQ+ community and show that you can be successful and be yourself.”
Deville and Schreiber’s engagement is a heart-warming reminder that love can conquer all, and that no matter what life throws at you, you can always find happiness and joy in the arms of someone special.
