Stream, TV channel, kick-off time and team news for AFCON quarter-final

Welcome to Gambia vs Cameroon

Good morning, good afternoon or good evening depending on what part of the beautiful world you are logged in from.

The weather in Cameroon isn’t the only thing which is heating up right now because we are edging closer to the Africa Cup of Nations final which means we are in-store for even more drama.

Our blog today will be coverage of the game between AFCON debutants Gambia who take on the hosts and 5x AFCON winners Cameroon at Stade Japoma.

It’s no secret that AFCON has delivered some shocking moments alongside plenty of unexpected and the Gambian edition is the latest chapter to the story. Not only did the Scorpions go undefeated in their first ever AFCON group stages but they stunned Guinea in the most dramatic of circumstances last Monday to earn a spot in the quarter-finals.

As for Cameroon, it has been normal procedures for them because they comfortably topped Group A and followed that up with 2-1 win over a fighting spirited ten-man Comoros side in the last 16, who had full-back Chaker Alhadur in goal having lost all three of their goalkeepers to a mixture of Covid-19 and injuries.

There’s no doubt that Cameroon are the clear favourites to progress to the semi-finals but stranger things have happened in football so if you care to find out how this could go, stay tuned because we will have the latest gossip, injury report and starting line-ups all before kick-off scheduled for 16:00 UK time.
