Sep. 22—GREENSBURG — The Pirate tennis team hosted EIAC foe Lawrenceburg Tuesday and posted a 5-0 sweep of the Tigers.

At No. 1 singles, Greensburg’s Dan Fisse won 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (13-11) over Safaivyan.

At No. 2 singles, Greensburg’s Mason McNulty cruised in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 over Bray.

At No. 3 singles, Greensburg’s Jacob Duerstock knocked off Tufts 6-2, 6-0.

In doubles action, Greensburg’s No. 1 duo of Jack McKinsey and Reece Beaver gave up just one game in winning 6-1, 6-0 over Buehler and Green.

At No. 2 doubles, Greensburg’s Justin Adkins and Carter Hellmich blanked Ahaus and Chambers 6-0, 6-0.

Tuesday, East Central knocked off the Pirates 3-2.

After dropping the first set, Fisse rallied to win his match at No. 1 singles 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Duerstock, at No. 3 singles, won 6-0, 6-1.

At No. 2 singles, McNulty was defeated 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.

In doubles action, No. 1 pairing McKinsey and Beaver lost 3-6, 7-6 (8-6), 7-5. In No. 2 doubles, Adkins and Coy lost 6-2, 7-6 (9-7).

Batesville

Shelbyville posted a 4-1 win over Batesville Tuesday.

The Bulldogs picked up a win at No. 1 singles where Sam Johnson won a tight match 6-4, 7-6 (7-3).

At No. 2 singles, Caleb Mohr fell 6-1, 6-1. At No. 3 singles, Jevan Smith was defeated 6-2, 6-2.

The No. 1 doubles team of Landon Oldham and Wes Peters lost 6-2, 6-3. The No. 2 doubles team of Owen Westerfeld and Lincoln Garrett fell 6-4, 6-3.
