Jannik Sinner was in the crowd to cheer on his girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya during her first round match at Wimbledon.

World No 1 Sinner, who beat German outsider Yannick Hanfmann in four sets on Monday, went public about his relationship with Kalinskaya in May.

The Russian, who is 17th in the world, looked in good spirits as she spotted Sinner in attendance, with the Italian seen smiling as he watched on with his hood up.

Kalinskaya’s day would only get better as she beat Hungarian Panna Udvardy in straight sets by 6-3, 6-2 to romp into the second round.

Kalinskaya, 25, previously dated Australian bad boy Nick Kyrgios, who is on commentary duty with the BBC at Wimbledon.

Speaking during the French Open in May, when Sinner confirmed he was together with Kalinskaya, the Italian said: ‘I’m with Anna, yes, but we keep everything very confidential.

‘You know my confidentiality… I won’t say more.’

Sinner and Kalinskaya join a number of other tennis stars who are in relationships but they have been dubbed the game’s new ‘power couple’ in some quarters.

Elsewhere, Katie Boulter, the current British number one women’s singles player has been dating Australian boyfriend Alex de Minaur since 2021.

Ukrainian Elina Svitolina has also been married to fellow pro player Gael Monfils since 2021 – after they started going out in 2019 – with the couple having their first child, Skaï, in 2022.

Sinner and Kalinskaya are believed to have started dating in April 2024 after meeting during practice sessions together.

They have regularly been seen supporting each other at matches, with Kalinskaya also at Sinner’s clash against Hanfmann on Monday.

The couple were similarly spotted training together ahead of Wimbledon this time around.

Kalinskaya, 25 has largely remained tight lipped on the romance but revealed last month at the Berlin Open that they were together.

She said: ‘I’m just trying to be a little bit as good as him. Let’s see if we can watch each other tomorrow. I’m going to text him now!’

Meanwhile, Sinner, who has already won $5.5million (£4.3m) in prize money to date in 2024, won his maiden Grand Slam at Australia in January and is expected to rival Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic for the Wimbledon title.

His previous best performance at the All-England Club came last year, when the 22-year-old lost to Djokovic in straight sets in the semi-finals, but he will hope to improve on that this time around.
