Katie Boulter pays sweet birthday tribute to Alex de Minaur as the tennis star turns 26

British tennis star Katie Boulter has wished her fiancé Alex de Minaur a happy 26th birthday by sharing a series of sweet photos to social media – along with a heartwarming message.

The tennis power couple, who have been dating since 2022, capped off an incredible year on the court by announcing their engagement at the end of 2024.

De Minaur is currently competing in Doha at the Qatar Open, while Boulter was unfortunately forced to withdraw from the tournament due to injury.

On Monday, the Australian star turned 26 and Boulter posted a series of photos from their life, captioning the post: ‘Celebrating you today and everyday’.

Boulter shared shots of the couple watching a sunset, lounging around the house, posing together on holidays, sharing a kiss – and lastly, a shot of them on the ocean in Dubai.

Shortly after Boulter’s post went up, it was her fiance’s turn.

De Minaur posted a photo of himself holding a birthday cake with two candles. He captioned the snap: ’26 in Doha. Getting older but not wiser. Thanks for all the Bday wishes.’

Having initially met on the professional tennis circuit, the pair had bumped into each other while out for a 6am coffee. It was here that their relationship blossomed and Boulter admitted that was when she knew he was the one.

‘We bumped into each other at six in the morning and ended up getting a coffee. From that moment, I knew I was in it for the long haul,’ Boulter told The Age.

Both have been in excellent form on the WTA and ATP Tours, with Boulter going on to win in Nottingham and San Diego last year.

De Minaur also ended his 2024 with a huge win at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown bouncing back from his disappointing ATP Finals in Turin where he failed to win a match.

Over the years, the pair have captured the hearts of many tennis fans for their blossoming relationship, with Boulter and De Minaur both regularly seen in the stands watching each other play.

‘Growing up, I was always super-close to my grandpa: I always said to myself that if I can find someone who has half his heart, I’ll be the luckiest woman in the world. I’ve found that person in Alex,’ Boulter said to The Age.

‘He puts me before himself all the time and takes care of the people around him – his family and his team. He’s my best example of what I want to be.’

The couple celebrated their four-year anniversary in March last year and were seen again supporting each other at Wimbledon, notably also heading out for coffee during the tournament week.

De Minaur, who lost the Rotterdam final in three sets to world No.3 Alcaraz, will open his Qatar campaign on Tuesday against Russian world No.70 Safiullin, who’s endured a tough start to the season, losing all his three tour-level matches.

The Aussie has been seeded No.2 in the Doha hardcourt event, with Spain’s top-seeded Alcaraz again his principal hurdle, as the pair set off on their quest to meet each other in a final for the second time in the space of a fortnight.

But there’s no guarantees in what looks a loaded field – even in the absence of now banned world No.1 Jannik Sinner – with Alcaraz scheduled to meet Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals in what would be their first clash since their quarter-final epic at the Australian Open, won by the Serb.
