Tennis legend Pam Shriver’s Grand Slam trophies have been returned after they were stolen along with her car last month, as she and her family fled their home amid the LA wildfires.

Shriver and her family were temporarily forced to stay in a hotel due to the Pacific Palisades fire, and the 21-time Grand Slam doubles winner had brought family photos and trophies along with them in their car.

On Friday, Shriver said that both the photos and the trophies were returned to the hotel, as ESPN reported, though the vehicle that was stolen remains missing.

Five US Open trophies, five French Open plates and one Australian Open had been in the car, the report said.

‘The trophies were in the wrong place at the wrong time,’ she said. ‘For 10 days, they were wherever they were. I wish my trophies could talk. I think it would be really interesting to hear from them.’

Shriver is said to have picked up her items on Tuesday, after the hotel manager reportedly called her and said her belongings had been found near the hotel a day before.

She then contacted police, who fingerprinted the items and later obtained security footage of the items being dropped off.

Shriver said the car in the footage ‘fit, somewhat, the description’ of her vehicle.

In discussing the theft of her items last month, Shriver told FOX 11 Los Angeles’ Matthew Seedorff that she no longer feels safe living in Los Angeles.

‘Right now in LA it’s tough to feel safe based on natural disasters, fires, crime,’ she said.

‘I spent the first 38 years [of my life] in Baltimore – since then I’ve been almost 30 years here. But I’m thinking about what’s my next community where I’m gonna feel safe.’

The Baltimore native was the world No. 1 in doubles at her peak and won an incredible seven Australian Opens, four French Opens, five Wimbledons and five US Opens.

She added this week that she believes the tennis community played a role in helping get her trophies back.

Shriver and her family have returned to their Brentwood home, which was thankfully unscathed.
