Tennis Match Brings Hosts and Hatchets Together

Sep. 10—The four team WHS Boys Tennis Invitational was played at the former Lena Dunn Elementary and Sports Complex courts on Saturday.

Team standings were: Evansville Christian — 21 points, South Knox — 17 points, Bloomfield — 16 points, and Washington — 6 points,

Individual winners included, No. 1 singles — Ferdi Bosse from Evansville Christian, No. 2 singles — Jack Rietman from Evansville Christian and No. 3 Dominick Blackard from Evansville Christian. At No. 1 doubles Quentin Ross and Blake Neil from Bloomfield, and No. 2 doubles — Max Smith and Isaac True from South Knox.

“It was a great day for tennis on Saturday. This tournament had a great mixture of talent from each team. Each team demonstrated perfect sportsmanship and competitiveness. We will continue to improve and get stronger with each match. I am looking forward to a busy upcoming week and strive to improve,” said WHS coach Jason Johnston.
