Tommy Fury, the younger brother of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, has hit back at criticism after leaving his girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague and their newborn daughter Bambi for a boxing match against YouTuber Jake Paul.
The 21-year-old Love Island star has been training for the fight, which is due to take place in Miami on June 5, and has been away from his family for the past few weeks.
The decision to leave his family has been met with criticism from some quarters, with some accusing Fury of being selfish and putting his career ahead of his family.
However, Fury has hit back at the criticism, insisting that he is doing what is best for his family in the long run.
Speaking to The Sun, Fury said: “I’m not a selfish person. I’m doing this for my family. I’m doing this for my daughter. I’m doing this for my future.
“I’m doing this for my career. I’m doing this for my legacy. I’m doing this for my name. I’m doing this for my family’s future.
“I’m not doing this for me. I’m doing this for my family. I’m doing this for my daughter. I’m doing this for my future.”
Fury also revealed that he has been in regular contact with his family while he has been away, and that he is looking forward to being reunited with them soon.
He said: “I’m in contact with them every day. I’m FaceTiming them every day. I’m missing them every day. I’m counting down the days until I get back to them.
“I’m doing this for them. I’m doing this for my family. I’m doing this for my daughter. I’m doing this for my future.”
Fury is currently in the final stages of his training camp for the fight, and is confident that he can come out on top against Paul.
He said: “I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m ready to go. I’m ready to put on a show. I’m ready to show the world what I’m made of.
“I’m ready to show the world that I’m a world-class fighter. I’m ready to show the world that I’m a world-class athlete. I’m ready to show the world that I’m a world-class boxer.”
The fight between Fury and Paul is set to be one of the biggest boxing events of the year, and is sure to draw a huge audience.
It will be a chance for Fury to prove his critics wrong and show that he is a world-class fighter, and that he is capable of putting his family first.
