The big spenders will be out in force again this summer, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.
The Red Devils have signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, with Man City also flexing their financial power to sign Tijani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki.
Chelsea have signed Liam Delap, Jorrel Hato, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, notably.
The biggest deal so far this summer saw Florian Wirtz complete a blockbuster transfer to Liverpool from Leverkusen, while they also brought in Hugo Ekitike from the Bundesliga. Luis Diaz went in the other direction, signing for German giants Bayern Munich.

Fernandes demands new signings at United
Bruno Fernandes reckons the Man Utd squad is still lacking in quality despite the arrivals of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
“I don’t want to have a dig at anyone, but I think the club is doing the best they can in terms of all the financial situations they talk about. I don’t know about it, I’m not involved in that. But obviously it was crystal clear we needed more competition for the players that were here,” the United captain said after the 2-2 friendly draw with Everton.
“We needed more quality to get everyone to step up a bit more and to have more to do to get into the starting line-up. I think that’s what the club and the manager are trying to do and hopefully we can get one or two players more to help with that.”
The Red Devils are still in the market for a goalkeeper, striker and central midfielder.

Alan Shearer comments on Isak situation
Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has provided some thoughts on Alexander Isak‘s transfer request to move to Liverpool.
“No, I’m not angry at all towards him,” he said on The Rest is Football podcast. “I understand how football works, I know what happens in and around the game. I probably understand his mentality. Do I like it? Do I understand it? Probably two different things. But I know what football is about and I know how it works, and obviously Liverpool have been into him or his agent.
“I just thought it might have happened next year and if it really is impossible for Eddie to turn him around and he says no, and it sounds like that is the case, I want him to be out now, you get your big money for him, whoever’s prepared to pay that and you get other people in, hopefully beforehand, and then you move on.
“As I said, no individual is bigger than any football club, and if he doesn’t want to be there, fine, get what you can and get him out and say thanks very much for the memories, off you go.”
