The big spenders will be out in force again this summer, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, with Man City also flexing their financial power to sign Tijani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki.

Chelsea have signed Liam Delap, Jorrel Hato, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, notably.

The biggest deal so far this summer saw Florian Wirtz complete a blockbuster transfer to Liverpool from Leverkusen, while they also brought in Hugo Ekitike from the Bundesliga. Luis Diaz went in the other direction, signing for German giants Bayern Munich.

Currently, the biggers rumours surround Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko.

Quilindschy Hartman reveals why he joined Burnley

Quilindschy Hartman has explained that Scott Parker was a key reason why he decided to join Burnley this summer.

“During our conversation, I noticed how much time and attention he’d invested in me,” he told ViaPlay.

“He knew exactly what kind of player I was and what I could contribute. Not just in terms of football, but also about my personal life and family situation. He was able to clearly explain to me why he thought I would be a good fit for Burnley,”

Man Utd reject NUMEROUS Maguire enquiries

Man Utd have rejected a number of enquiries about Harry Maguire.

It wasn’t long ago that the central defender seemed destined to leave Old Trafford but he has become a favourite of Ruben Amorim and could be set to sign an new deal at Old Trafford.

The Mail reports that three Premier League clubs, two Serie A sides, Monaco, Marseille, Fenerbahce and Besiktas have all made approaches to sign the player that were rejected.

Liverpool’s Elliott demands

Liverpool have made clear their demands for Harvey Elliott.

The Reds are willing to sell their midfielder for a fee of £40 million (€46m) if the deal includes a buy-back clause, and £50m (€57m) if the deal does not include a buy-back clause.

Elliott has been strongly linked with RB Leipzig, who could look to sign him as a replacement for Xavi Simons. (Athletic)

Jackson contingency

Man Utd and Newcastle will battle for Nicolas Jackson should they both fail to sign Benjamin Sesko.

The RB Leipzig striker is wanted by both clubs currently and it seems like it will come down to the player himself to choose his destination.

But, if a deal can’t be struck, the Premier League sides will look to Chelsea’s Jackson, who has fallen down the centre-forward pecking order at Stamford Bridge after the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. (Athletic)

Did Man Utd dodge a bullet by not signing Viktor Gyokeres?

Rio Ferdinand believes that Man Utd will be fine despite not signing Viktor Gyokeres.

“Listen, one thing there’s no dispute on, this guy has dominated Portuguese football for two years,” Ferdinand admitted in his latest YouTube video.

“Led defenders all over the place and smashed them all over the gaff, you can’t argue.

“He was massively linked to Man Utd because of the Amorim connection, and I was one who was saying, and I don’t want it to be distorted, the reason why I was saying no for United, was because I didn’t think he was the right profile for United, in terms of experience at the top level.

“You look at the two signings Man Utd have made [Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo] – Premier League experience, they understand the league. Whatever level you think they are, they are not going to have that adaptation to the Premier League and to the culture.

“Where he [Gyokeres] will have to have that – we don’t know if he can play in the Premier League, he hasn’t done it, he played for Coventry.”

Arsenal see Lookman as Eze alternative

Arsenal view Ademola Lookman as a cheaper alternative to Eberechi Eze.

The Gunners want to sign Eze in this window but informed Crystal Palace they wouldn’t be paying for Eze’s release clause, which has now expired.

Palace are undoubedly in the driving seat in negotiations now so Arsenal are looking at other players and could move for Lookman, who recently handed in a transfer request at Atalanta. (Football London)
