England manager Thomas Tuchel believes that Arsenal and Liverpool will have a huge Premier League advantage next season simply because they are not playing in the Club World Cup this summer.
Nine of the current England squad play for clubs due to compete in FIFA’s summer jamboree in America with Chelsea and Manchester City being England’s representatives.
Asked ahead of Tuesday’s England friendly against Senegal at the City Ground whether he was worried about the impact on key players such as Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane and Cole Palmer, Tuchel said: ‘It is not so many players. But I think it will have a huge impact and it will give Liverpool and Arsenal a huge advantage in the next season to not be there.
‘I think it will be a very nice experience for the players who are there to play this tournament for the first time so it is mixed feelings about it.
‘I decided not to worry too much because why should I?
‘It is a given and no one knows what will be the outcome of it or the effect.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Arne Slot’s Liverpool will not be in the Club World Cup this summer
‘We will deal with the effect when the effect comes and let’s see.
‘We have a lot of teams in Champions League next season and other European football and so let’s see.’
Tuchel has already said he will prioritise England’s needs over those of the clubs when he picks his team for Tuesday night.
The Club Word Cup starts in Miami on Saturday but Kane, Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all set to play some part against Senegal.
