Twitter was all crazy as Suryakumar Yadav hit his maiden T20I hundred for India as the Men in Blue pursued a record chase against England in the third T20I of the series being played at the Trent Bridge ground in Nottingham on July 10, 2022.
England had won the toss and Jos Buttler decided to bat first this time, and also announced that two changes were made. Phil Salt and Reece Topley were included in the XI for Sam Curran and Matt Parkinson.
India, on the other hand, made four changes as Shreyas Iyer, Avesh Khan, Umran Malik, and Ravi Bishnoi came in for Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Dawid Malan was the top-scorer for the England side, as he slammed 77 in 39 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes to his name. He got good support from Liam Livingstone, who made 42* with 4 sixes to his name. Other major contributors were Jason Roy (27), Chris Jordan (19), and Jos Buttler (18), as England slammed 215/7 in 20 overs.
For India, Ravi Bishnoi and Harshal Patel, both took 2 wickets finishing with figures of 2/30 and 2/35 respectively.
Suryakumar Yadav Leads India’s Charge With A Sublime Century
India didn’t start off well with Rohit Sharma (11), Rishabh Pant (1), and Virat Kohli (11) getting out early. Then Suryakumar Yadav continued to hammer the England bowlers on his way to a brilliant century, making him the fifth Indian to make a ton in T20Is after Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, KL Rahul, and Deepak Hooda.
Suryakumar added 119 runs for the 4th wicket with Shreyas Iyer who managed 28 runs in 23 balls. But Suryakumar kept hitting the big shots to keep India in the hunt for the 216-run target which would be a record chase for the Men in Blue.
He brought up his century in 48 balls with 12 fours and 5 sixes and celebrated it with elan.
The Twitterverse was all happy with Suryakumar Yadav’s maiden T20I ton and lauded him on the social media site.

Special century from Suryakumar Yadav, playing a dazzling array of shots and accelerating stunningly – last 50 took 16 balls.
If he can take India home it will be one of the great T20I knocks

Want to win the World Cup, make your top order look like the SKY.
There’s no rocket science to what kind of batsmen can potentially own this format. His kind.

Fabulous from SKY. Indian T20 batting is evolving.
It’s upto the selectors and team management to enable it further, and not hold it back. #ENGvIND
