Two PSG Stars Earn Rare 10/10 from L’Équipe After Champions League Win; Inter Milan Player Gets 1

Two PSG stars were handed a perfect 10/10 rating by L’Equipe following their side’s Champions League triumph over Inter Milan on Saturday night.

The Ligue 1 giants were looking to win their first ever European Cup and did so in some style as they thrashed Inter 5-0 at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

L’Equipe are notorious for being particularly brutal with their ratings, reserving the highest marks for truly exceptional performances, but even they could hardly find fault with PSG’s display in the final.

Desire Doue received a 10 after scoring twice and providing an assist before he was substituted in the second half. L’Equipe described his performance as simply ‘stunning’ as the teenager lit up the biggest stage.

He may feel he was a little hard done by to not get the chance to complete his hat-trick when he was taken off, but L’Equipe had no issue with Luis Enrique’s management as they also gave the PSG boss a perfect 10.

They hailed the Spaniard for picking Doue over Bradley Barcola on the right wing – a call that paid off handsomely – and described his coaching performance as a ‘total success’.

It was an emotional evening for Enrique as he paid tribute to his late daughter, Xana, after the match by wearing a T-shirt depicting her placing a PSG flag into the pitch, just like she had done with the Barcelona flag a decade earlier when Enrique won the Champions League with the Catalan giants in 2015.

No PSG player received a mark below seven, such was their dominance, with Ballon d’Or contender Ousmane Dembele getting an eight.

He was joined on the same mark by midfield trio Vitinha, Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz, plus defenders Achraf Hakimi and Pacho.

Hakimi opened the scoring on the night, his fourth goal of PSG’s European campaign, but refused to celebrate against his former club.

The ratings did not make such pretty reading for Inter’s players, though, after a nightmare evening for Simone Inzaghi’s men.

Left wing-back Federico Dimarco received only a 1/10 after playing Inter’s forwards onside for the first goal, and then deflecting Doue’s shot into his own net for PSG’s second.

He was replaced in the early stages of the second half with L’Equipe branding his showing ‘a shipwreck’.

Only three of his team-mates were marked above a two – Benjamin Pavard (4), Alessandro Bastoni (3) and Marcus Thuram (4).

Inzaghi was not spared criticism either as he received a two, with L’Equipe arguing that he may have shown too much emotion in the build-up to the game, leading to his players failing to keep their composure on the pitch.

The Italian manager has been linked with a summer switch to Saudi Arabia, and L’Equipe deemed potentially his final match on the Inter bench to be a ‘fiasco’ as the Serie A giants were completely humiliated.
