Tyson Fury has made it clear that he wants former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou to knock out Deontay Wilder in their upcoming fight.

The Gypsy King, who is set to face Wilder in a trilogy bout later this year, has been vocal in his support for Ngannou ahead of his title fight against the Bronze Bomber.

In an interview with ESPN, Fury said he was rooting for Ngannou to knock out Wilder and that he would be “over the moon” if it happened.

“I’d love to see Francis Ngannou knock out Deontay Wilder,” Fury said. “I’d be over the moon if that happened. He’s a piece of s***, Deontay Wilder. He’s a disgrace to boxing.”

Fury also revealed his prediction for the fight, saying he believes Ngannou will win by knockout in the first or second round.

“I think it’s going to be a first or second-round knockout for Francis Ngannou,” Fury said. “He’s a big, strong, powerful guy and he’s got a lot of momentum behind him. He’s a great fighter and I think he’s going to do the business.”

Fury and Wilder are set to face off in a trilogy bout later this year, with the Gypsy King looking to avenge his controversial draw against the American in their first fight in 2018.

The two heavyweights have been trading verbal jabs in the lead-up to the fight, with Fury recently calling Wilder a “piece of s***” and a “disgrace to boxing”.

It remains to be seen if Ngannou can live up to Fury’s prediction and knock out Wilder, but it’s clear that the Gypsy King is firmly in the Cameroonian’s corner.
