Valentina Shevchenko almost turned PURPLE as she was choked out by Alexa Grasso in the main event of UFC 285. The fight was for the flyweight title and Shevchenko was the defending champion.
The fight started off with Shevchenko looking to use her superior striking to keep Grasso at bay. Shevchenko was able to land some good shots and was able to keep Grasso on the defensive. However, Grasso was able to take advantage of Shevchenko’s lack of defense and was able to land some good shots of her own.
The fight then went to the ground where Grasso was able to take Shevchenko’s back and lock in a rear-naked choke. Shevchenko was unable to escape and was forced to tap out. As she tapped out, her face began to turn purple from the choke.
The fight was a huge upset as Shevchenko was the favorite to win the fight. She had been the flyweight champion for over two years and was considered one of the best female fighters in the world.
Grasso was able to take advantage of Shevchenko’s lack of defense and was able to secure the victory. She is now the new flyweight champion and will look to defend her title in the future.
The fight was a great display of skill and technique from both fighters. Shevchenko showed her heart and determination in the fight and Grasso showed her skill and technique in securing the victory.
It was a great fight and a great moment for Grasso as she was able to take the title from Shevchenko. Shevchenko will now look to regroup and come back stronger than ever.
