Manchester United are ready to trigger the release clause in Victor Osimhen’s Napoli contract, according to reports in Italy.
The Nigeria international, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, is expected to leave Napoli on a permanent deal this summer and Man Utd are among the clubs chasing his signature as they look to bring a prolific centre forward to the club.
Man Utd pursue €100m double deal as Ten Hag favourite edges closer to exit
Rasmus Hojlund scored just his second goal in 29 appearances for the Red Devils during their 1-1 draw against Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon, and reports indicate the Denmark international could be sold in order to fund a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Matheus Cunha.
However, the Brazilian is widely tipped to play as an attacking midfielder in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system and Man Utd are therefore still on the hunt for a new striker.
Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap has been identified as a key target by the Old Trafford hierarchy, while Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike has also been linked with a move to the 20-time English top flight champions following a splendid season in Germany.
Man Utd ‘sacrifice’ €80m star to sign Matheus Cunha
Despite their interest in both Delap and Ekitike, Man Utd are now willing to trigger the €75 million release clause included in Osimhen’s contract at Napoli, according to TuttoJuve.
Widespread reports indicate that Osimhen’s salary expectations may prevent him from joining a Premier League club this summer, but the Italian publication claim that Man Utd have offered him a €15m-per-year contract and are prepared to pay his €75m price tag.

Victor Osimhen to leave Napoli?
In addition to Man Utd, Juventus are also eager to sign Osimhen this year as they look to “revolutionise” their attack following Dusan Vlahovic’s woes this campaign.
Furthermore, Chelsea have a long-standing interest in the Nigerian and could rekindle their pursuit this summer, while several clubs in the Saudi Pro League have identified him as a key transfer target.
However, Man Utd are strong contenders to land Osimhen ahead of the 2025-26 campaign and could accelerate into the lead for his signature by striking an agreement with Napoli shortly.
