Shogun Rua found overwhelming success in the Pride fighting promotion during 2005, claiming a five-fight win streak that would lead him to a middleweight title to cap off the year. Rua is set to face Ihor Potieria next in the featured prelim matchup at UFC 283 on Saturday.

Wanderley so happy and proud 😁
Shogun at pride was pure warrior, when he went to UFC he seems lazy he's not consistent he loses fights against way weaker opponents.. Now the commission change the rules most of these moves you can't do anymore, but brazil got reinforcement now they have Alex perreira kicking ass on these current rules but they still find a way to sabotage brazil like treating them like they're cheaters like american fighters doesn't ever use anything illegal lol
5 wins in 1 year and 2 wins in 1 night.
Sucks that ufc doesn't have the same rules as pride it was wild and awesome to see fighters knee and soccer kick grounded opponents
I forgot how bad a beating this was on Rampage. The Thai plum was his kryptonite.
Woa. The grueling era of soccer kicks.
With waderlei silva, they were most juiced fighters of the japanese pro circuit
Shogun was a force in pride. Those soccer kicks were legendary
Olah raga tidak manusiawi
Until he meets someone like Jon jones… then makes him look like a rookie 😂😂😂
JON JONES 🤕
Shogun rua stamina was crazy before injuries
Esse Kanahara se fudeu, pegou o Shogun no auge dos tiros de meta e pisão voador slk
God bless you LEGEND
The level of competition he beat is astounding
I was in a sports bar back in 2004 watching FSN with Bas Rutten when they used to air PRIDE fc Highlights and I watched the Aleksandeer Emelienenko vs Josh Thompson fight. I was blown away at how exciting it was. I was hooked ever since
During his pride days, he was the worst person to fall against. A slip, a trip, doesn’t matter. You have to be standing at all times against Shogun. Going to the ground is suicide.
Damn Rampage ate them shots,to bad for hia rib or else he wouldve showed up
They say this year is the closest competition to jon jones in 2011
Wish I could see this shogun fight against Jon Jones
