Machida was going for his trademark left in an effort to counter Jones who seemingly was about to attempt a flying knee. But Jones faked the knee and threw his own left, of which Jones didn't wind back his arm for like Machida did. Between that and Jones knowing that he was in range of Machida (measured with Jones right arm) that made for the perfect opportunity to capitalize on a dazed Machida. And obviously Machida had no chance of escaping that. That's a very deep (and long) arm crank. Not a lot you can do against a 6'4" tall person with a 84.5" wingspan who knows how to use it.. if you're the size of a guy like Machida, or most guys Jones has fought.
Gane has incredible striking, that was like watching a medieval execution. Jones really made short work of him though because he just has no grappling/ground game it seems. I will be watching Gane's career with great interest still.
