Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly ready to leave Sporting CP on loan if his proposed move to Arsenal falls through this summer.
The Sweden international is pushing to complete a blockbuster move to the Emirates Stadium and Mikel Arteta’s side are locked in advanced negotiations with Sporting as they look to finalise a deal shortly.
Gyokeres has already given up €2m in wages in order to join Arsenal this summer, while he has sent a number of private messages to Sporting president Frederico Varandas in an attempt to force through a move to north London, as per Fabrizio Romano.
However, a deal has not yet been finalised and Gyokeres has now outlined a ‘Plan B’ option.
That is according to Portuguese outlet Record, who claim that Gyokeres is ready to leave Sporting on loan for the duration of the 2025-26 campaign if Arsenal fail to agree a deal.
He has decided that he will never play for the club again, and Record (via The Daily Mail) state that Fenerbahce will consider a sensational loan deal should talks with Arsenal break down.
Viktor Gyokeres set to join Arsenal
Although Gyokeres has outlined a secondary transfer option, Arsenal are still determined to sign him and The Guardian report that Arteta wants to finalise his arrival before his side jet off to Asia for a pre-season tour on 19 July.
Gyokeres has scored 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting CP, following his move from Coventry City in 2023, and he is seen as a player capable of firing Arsenal to a first major trophy in five years.
