Watch two Man City superstars refuse to sign autographs for young supporters while stopped at a red light

This is the moment two Manchester City superstars refused to sign autographs for a group of young supporters while they waited at a red light.

A video shared across TikTok shows Phil Foden and Josko Gvardiol sitting behind the wheel of their cars while the kids appealed for them to sign merchandise.

Foden continued to look straight ahead, accompanied by one of his children, and slowly pulled away into the distance when the lights turned green.

Shortly after, the same group held up a blue City home jersey and a pen to Gvardiol’s near-side window, clearly hoping he would roll it down and sign.

One of the supporters could be heard shouting ‘please’ as they waited next to the car, while another appeared to say ‘he’s not going to open it’.

At one stage, the defender motioned forward with both hands, seemingly pointing out the fact that they were stopped on a busy road with flowing traffic.

Reaction to the social media footage has been mixed – with both parties criticised.

‘Can’t stop traffic to sign stuff!’ one user said. ‘They’re in the middle of the road.’

‘Respect has gone out the window with kids now,’ another posted.

A third wrote: ‘Foden’s with his son. Give his family some respect.’

However, viewers also believe the players should have just signed the merch. Indeed, one declared: ‘Absolutely shocking, football would be nothing without fans.’

‘Paid millions, can’t even sign an autograph for a kid,’ another said. ‘Game’s gone.’

Ahead of the new Premier League season, Foden revealed he is determined to rediscover his top form after delivering several improved displays over the summer.

‘I thought I was much better at the Club World Cup and my performances definitely got better from the season before,’ Foden said.

‘I want to continue getting back to my level, which is very high. You just have to put the work in training and believe in yourself.

‘I am not sure where the manager sees me this year, I can play in different positions but we all know my position is the insides, in the pockets, so let us see what happens.

‘I am not here to replicate what Kev [de Bruyne] did because we all know how good he was and what he did for the club.

‘It is about trying my best, getting to the level where I won Player of the Year. You can only train and get back to it – that is what I am trying to do.’
