Nottingham Forest saw an enquiry for Brest goalkeeper Marco Bizot rejected before moving for Matz Sels.

Sels is set to complete a move to the City Ground before tonight’s deadline.

But Mail Sport can reveal that Forest enquired about Bizot’s availability on Wednesday night before moving ahead with their move for Sels.

Brest are currently third in Ligue 1 and are going for Champions League qualification and therefore immediately turned down Forest’s request.

Forest were also in talks with Crystal Palace over a move for their England goalkeeper Sam Johnstone but his £15million valuation was a stumbling block.
