2023 All Marion County Girls Golf Team and Golfer of the Year Nominees Announced

The girls golf season had a ton of buzz around it, with state champion Haley Davis returning for her senior season. Several players took a leap in play during the season, making all county selections as tough as ever.

The MCIAC golf tournament was dominated by underclassmen, opening the door for an even better 2024 season. Before the golfers return to the greens, we have some honors to bestow on the queens of the back nine.

On May 21, every Athlete of the Year winner will be announced at the MESPY’s. Hold that pin because we’re announcing our top two finalists with their accolades and feats to hold you over until the big day.

After a long season, it’s time to reward the county’s top performers for their efforts. Below, you’ll find the all-county girl golf team.

Player of the Year nominees

Lindsey Reimsnyder – Junior – Belleview

Reimsnyder anchored her team to a second-place finish at the MCIAC gold tournament while securing second place as an individual. The junior finished in the top 15 of a crowded 2A district. Belleview’s ace averaged 45 strokes on nine-hole courses.

Kara Griggs – Junior – Forest

Griggs took over as the Wildcats number one golfer after pushing Davis in the first half of the season. She captured the MCIAC tournament title and piloted her team to another county wide golf title. She finished top 15 in her disitrict and top 50 in the region.
