Despite USA resting four key players, they launched an aggressive start with Shayan Jahangir and Andries Gous at the helm. They made a solid start with a 46 runs opening partnership before Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur struck crucial blows.

Mustafizur, who recently featured for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, showcased his prowess by dismissing key batters, including Corey Anderson, who had been influential in USA’s earlier victories. He eventually finished with a career-best 6/10, marked a historic moment as the first Bangladesh bowler to achieve a six-wicket haul in T20Is. His remarkable feat significantly contributed to limiting USA to a modest total of 104/ 9.

Rishad Hossain, alongside Mustafizur, also played a crucial role in Bangladesh’s triumph, delivering an outstanding bowling performance, conceding only seven runs in his four overs and picking up a crucial wicket. This spell marked Bangladesh’s most economical T20I bowling performance with a minimum of four overs.
Strong response from Bangladesh openers
Responding to the challenge, Bangladesh’s batters, Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar, took charge against the USA bowlers. Tanzid impressed with his third T20I fifty, well-supported by Soumya’s unbeaten 43 off 28 balls. Their partnership, marked by impressive stroke play and timely boundaries, ensured Bangladesh’s comprehensive victory. The duo’s 108 runs stand in just 11.5 overs propelled Bangladesh to a convincing ten-wicket win, narrowing the series margin to 2-1 in favor of USA.
