The player has not yet been named and it is unclear what precisely happened to lead to them needing hospital treatment.
Kansas City Star reporter Sam McDowell said on X: ‘The Chiefs canceled their scheduled OTA practice today because of a medical emergency involving a backup player who was taken to the hospital and is now in stable condition.’
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been leading his team through OTAs this week, with the team beginning preparations ahead of their shot at an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl title in the new season.
According to The Athletic, the Chiefs will practice Friday. The team has been contacted for comment.
