Following India’s victory over England in the second semifinal, in Guyana, and their qualification for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 final, a light-hearted moment unfolded between Jasprit Bumrah and the on-field Umpire, Rod Tucker.

This moment unfolded during the 17th over of the second innings; after trapping  Jofra Archer with an inswinging yorker, Indian players began their celebration, shaking hands with each other as Jofra took the DRS. Bumrah also went to up to the umpire to shake hands like his teammates but was offered his cap back

In a viral video, the footage captures Bumrah extending his hand for a congratulatory shake with on-field umpire  Tucker, only to be momentarily left hanging as Tucker greeted other players first. Bumrah’s surprising reaction to this amusing turn of events has resonated widely among fans, adding a touch of levity to India’s momentous achievement.  Meanwhile in the game, Bumrah showcased exceptional bowling skills, securing two crucial wickets, including the likes of Phil Salt with an impressive economy rate of 4.50

India’s complete dominance over England

Earlier in the game, India opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Powered by Rohit Sharma’s commanding half-century and crucial contributions from Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav, India set a challenging target of 171 runs. The Indian bowlers, a force to be reckoned with, then showcased their prowess, led by Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav they bundled out an England for the total of 103 in 16.4 over. With this comprehensive victory, India have secured their spot in the final of 2024 edition where they will face South Africa.
