The Brooklyn Nets will need contributions from all over the roster if they are to make the playoffs next season and make some noise in the postseason. One of the players that Brooklyn will be relying on seems to still be held in decent regard among players who can have their contracts extended.

In a recent article by HoopsHype, Yossi Gozlan ranked Nets guard Ben Simmons 38th on his list of players who are eligible for contract extensions. Nets Wire recently covered that Brooklyn guard Spencer Dinwiddie ranked 24th on Gozlan’s list.

Simmons, 27, will be needed more next season than at any point during his tenure with the Nets. Simmons, the first overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, was initially brought to Brooklyn to be the third-best player to Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, but now, Simmons will need to be the third-best player on this team at the very least given how much money is invested in him for the next two seasons.
