Wayne Rooney is reportedly working on a sequel to his Amazon Prime Video documentary, which was titled ‘Rooney’.
The first show, released in 2022, gave insight into the former England striker’s life, from his aspirational youth and through his career in football until he was Derby County’s player-manager.
In it, Rooney bared his soul with confessional interviews and viewers heard from figures such as David Beckham and David Moyes, revisiting moments on the pitch and learning about moments off them.
Now, the ex-Manchester United star is in the early stages of making another, as reported by The Sun.
It will reportedly look more into his career in management – the 37-year-old currently manages D.C. United in the MLS – but does not currently have a working title.

A TV insider told the Sun: ‘It is in the very early stages of development but, given how big the first show was, there’s a real appetite for more.
‘There’s continued interest, not just in Wayne but his entire family, particularly after the epic Wagatha legal battle which saw wife Coleen Rooney [take] centre stage for a change.’
While the channel or platform on which it will air is unconfirmed, Prime Video is the ‘obvious choice’ after they hosted the initial series.
It is expected that the documentary will be released in 2024.
Rooney’s career in the dugout to date has been reasonable.
Though he was in charge during Derby County’s relegation from the Championship in 2021/22, he won plaudits for doing the best he could in hard circumstances and, had they not been given a 21-point deduction, they would have stayed up very comfortably.
He currently has D.C. United in contention for the MLS play-offs.
