The Brisbane Heat triumphed over the Sydney Thunder in the sixth match of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2023 in a riveting clash at Manuka Oval on Tuesday (December 12). Supported by contributions from Josh Brown (14), Nathan McSweeney (29), and Sam Billings (23), the Heat managed to put up a competitive total despite Tanveer Sangha‘s impressive bowling performance. Sangha claimed three crucial wickets for just 21 runs in his four overs, offering some resistance to the Heat’s batting lineup.

Sydney Thunder’s struggle

In response, the Sydney Thunder faced an uphill battle to chase down the target. The Thunder batters found it challenging to tackle the disciplined bowling attack of Brisbane Heat. Cameron Bancroft (25) and Chris Green (30) made noteworthy contributions, but the Heat bowlers, led by Xavier Bartlett‘s outstanding figures of three wickets for 35 runs in 4 overs, kept the pressure on throughout the innings.
