Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Sunil Narine has emerged as a revelation in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 with his aggressive batting at the top of the order. He scores runs at a rapid pace, contributing significantly to his team’s totals. In their recent encounter against the Delhi Capitals, Narine smashed a belligerent 85 runs off just 39 balls, including 7 sixes and 7 fours. This dominant knock played a crucial role in KKR posting a massive total of 272 and securing a comfortable victory.

During a conversation, Shreyas Iyer pointed out that the mystery spinner from the Caribbean islands frequently misses team meetings. Narine responded to his captain in a lighthearted and courteous manner. He acknowledged his understanding of cricket and his role within the team. However, he maintained that his absence from meetings is ultimately beneficial to him.
“I know about my role, so the less I know, the finer it is for me,” Narine said as quoted by India Today.

Revival of Narine in IPL 2024
The collaboration between Narine and Gautam Gambhir consistently proved successful, with Narine shifting to an opening position under Gambhir’s captaincy in 2017. Following Gambhir’s departure from KKR, Narine was relegated to batting lower down the order. However, with Gambhir’s return, Narine has resumed his opening role, resulting in a notable performance where he scored 134 runs across three innings with a strike rate of 206.
