Gill, who is preparing for the series against Sri Lanka, expressed his enthusiasm about working under Gambhir’s guidance. Reflecting on their initial interactions, Gill remarked, “We’ve had just two practice sessions with Gautam Gambhir so far. This is my first experience working with him, but his communication has been exceptionally clear from the start. He precisely understands what he expects from each player and has a strategic vision for harnessing our strengths.”

The vice-captain also touched upon the synergy between the new T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, and Gambhir and talked about their similar mindset. He said, “There is a strong alignment in the thinking and mindset of Suryakumar Yadav and Gautam Gambhir. Having played under Surya bhai in South Africa, I can attest to their similar approach and understanding of the game. This cohesion is bound to reflect positively on our performance on the field.”
