South Africa Women are set to embark on a thrilling tour to Australia for a multi-format series that commences from January 27 and features three T20Is, as many ODIs, and a historic Test match against the Aussies. In a noteworthy announcement by Cricket South Africa (CSA), the squad for the white-ball games between the two formidable sides has been unveiled, with Laura Wolvaardt once again taking the helm as the captain of the Proteas side.

South Africa’s recent success

The Proteas Women’s team enters the white-ball leg against Australia with high spirits, following a tied T20I series against Bangladesh and a triumphant campaign in the three-match ODI series at home. Their recent performances have showcased their resilience and determination, setting the stage for an exciting clash against the Aussies.

Return of key players

As CSA unveiled a formidable 15-member squad for the white-ball series against Australia, Chloe Tryon made a return to the international setup after being sidelined from cricketing action due to a groin injury. The all-rounder’s inclusion adds depth and experience to the team. Another exciting development is the maiden call-up of Ayanda Hlubi to the ODI side. Hlubi, who made a strong impression with her T20I debut against Bangladesh, brings a fresh and dynamic element to the squad.

The squad also features established names such as Marizanne Kapp, Sune Luus, Sinalo Jafta, and Tanzim Brits, creating a well-balanced mix of youth and experience. These players have proven their mettle on the international stage and are expected to play crucial roles in the upcoming series for the South African side.
