The much-awaited Eliminator clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is currently taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Fans have been treated to a thrilling contest as both teams battle for a spot in the next round of the playoffs.
RCB posts competitive total despite Royals’ disciplined bowling
After being asked to bat first, RCB managed to post a competitive total of 172/8 in their 20 overs. Despite a disciplined bowling display by the Rajasthan, RCB’s top order laid a solid foundation. Virat Kohli gave a strong start with a composed 33 off 24 balls. Rajat Patidar emerged as the top-scorer for RCB, hitting 34 from 22 balls, including two fours and two sixes. Mahipal Lomror added valuable runs with his quickfire 32 from 17 balls.
Ravichandran Ashwin was the standout bowler for RR, delivering a masterful spell with figures of 2 for 19 in his four overs. Avesh Khan also made significant contributions with the ball, taking three wickets, though he conceded 44 runs.

Lockie Ferguson dismisses Tom Kohler-Cadmore with a beauty
During the chase of Rajasthan, Lockie Ferguson, the star RCB pacer, drew the first blood with an absolute peach of a delivery to get rid of Tom Kohler-Cadmore. It was the final over of the Powerplay, and RR were running away with the game with both openers going great guns. Kohler-Cadmore, especially after a slow start, had hit two boundaries in the previous over, putting pressure on RCB.
Ferguson, however, delivered an incredible slower yorker on the off-stump line that completely puzzled the RR opener. The ball toppled his off-stump, bringing joy to the RCB supporters. It was a slower legcutter, full and floating, and thoroughly deceptive. Kohler-Cadmore attempted to bring his bat down on the incorrect line, and the ball struck the off stump. He made 20 runs off 15 balls before falling to Ferguson.
