The 11th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is taking place between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. While CSK have had a mixed start to their campaign, RR are yet to taste victory, making this contest even more interesting as both sides are eager to secure two crucial points in the tournament.

Vijay Shankar’s stunning catch sends Wanindu Hasaranga packing

A spectacular moment unfolded in the 15th over of RR’s innings when Vijay Shankar took a breathtaking catch to dismiss Wanindu Hasaranga. The dismissal came off the first ball of the over bowled by Ravindra Jadeja. Hasaranga, attempting a powerful slog-sweep, struck the ball flat and low towards deep mid-wicket.

Shankar displayed remarkable athleticism, sprinting forward before diving low to get his fingers under the ball just in time. Despite rolling over thrice after the dive, he managed to maintain control and complete the catch cleanly. The third umpire reviewed the effort and confirmed it as a legal catch, sending Hasaranga back to the pavilion. It was a much-needed boost for CSK, as Hasaranga’s wicket halted RR’s momentum.
