Arsenal fans comically urge Tottenham to defeat Man City, with Piers Morgan at the forefront, causing conflicting emotions among Spurs supporters

Arsenal and Tottenham fans have been left divided on social media over who they want to win tonight’s clash between Spurs and Manchester City – with Gunners fans urging their bitter rivals to claim victory.

The game will have huge ramifications in the Gunners’ chances of clinching their first Premier League title since 2004, with Pep Guardiola’s side able to take a two-point lead over Mikel Arteta’s team at the top of the table, should they win.

With just one game to play, Arsenal fans have been emploring Tottenham to beat City tonight, with well-known Arsenal fan Piers Morgan leading the rallying cries from the Red half of North London.

Tottenham posted their starting XI on X (formerly Twitter) earlier on Tuesday evening, with Morgan hailing Arsenal’s bitter rivals, writing: ‘Brilliant team. 11 natural born winners and warriors.

‘Real men who I will know will do everything in their formidable, nay magical powers to get a result tonight. Come on lads – you have a brilliant record vs City, do it for North London!’

Other Arsenal fans, desperate for Spurs to win, wrote: ‘DO IT FOR NORTH LONDON,’ while another wrote: ‘Great team, come on you Spurs!’

On the other side of the north London divide, Tottenham, who are hoping to steal fourth place off Aston Villa by winning their final two Premier League matches, were a little conflicted over whether they wanted to beat City tonight – thus gifting an advantage to their bitter rivals Arsenal in the title race.

One Tottenham fan was asked by BeIN Sports if he wanted Spurs to win on Tuesaday. He replied: ‘Absolutely not. Why? In 20 years people are going to remember Tottenham giving Arsenal the title. But they’re not going to remember Tottenham getting knocked out of the group stages in the Champions League.’

Another said: ‘I would rather sell my Mum than Arsenal winning the league!’

‘The pain of seeing Arsenal win the league will last a life time. So for me, it’s very simple, it’s a no,’ another said when asked if he wanted Tottenham to win tonight.

One Tottenham fan account wrote on X: ‘Blue moon. You saw me standing alone Whitout a dream in my heart Without a love of my own, blue moon.’
