The Former Arsenal star secured a penalty in the final five minutes of play to double his boyhood club’s lead and secure all three points for the hosts.
The South Wales derby result pushed Cardiff into fifteenth in the Championship, while Swansea are struggling in 22nd spot.
Cardiff will host Coventry next week, with Swansea travelling to West London for a QPR clash.
