Tottenham have completed the signing of Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest on transfer Deadline Day.

The Wales international makes the move to London after Spurs agreed a £47.5m move with Forest for the 22-year-old.

Johnson was keen to seal his transfer to become Ange Postecoglou’s latest recruit and travelled down to London on Friday afternoon to sign his contract.

Spurs previously had a £40m offer rejected by Forest, before their follow-up offer was later accepted with a sell-on fee also included.

The forward completed his medical late in the evening before signing a six-year deal until 2029.

Tottenham confirmed the player will wear the number 22 shirt and joins as Postecoglou looks to fill the goals void left by Harry Kane who joined Bayern Munich.

Forest had been holding out for an offer close to £50m for Johnson and accepted Tottenham’s bid as they looked to cash-in on the attacker.

Johnson moved to Forest from Lincoln City two years ago and quickly rose through the ranks of Steve Cooper’s side to become one of the club’s most valuable assets.

He joins a Tottenham side flooded with attacking talent and could be used to challenge Brazilian striker Richarlison after his difficult start to the season.

Johnson scored 10 goals in eight competitions for Forest last season as they maintained their Premier League status by avoiding relegation.
