He worked with the national team under Louis van Gaal before stints in charge of Turkish sides Curacao and Adana Demirspor, where he led them to fourth place in the league before leaving in December.
At Rondo on Ziggo Sport, Kluivert said on Monday evening that he considers himself suitable for the position of trainer at Ajax.
‘I think so. I think I can convey my experiences well with the boys on a personal level. I am not here to claim a job,’ the former striker made clear.
‘But it does hurt to see your club like this.’
‘I know what I did, I don’t expect anything from anyone. It would be nice to get recognition for what you have done.’ Kluivert, who played for Ajax between 1984 and 1997 and was a youth coach at the club in 2016.
