Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann: Rekindled Romance? Aston Villa Stars Share Heartwarming New Year’s Day Photo, Fueling Speculation of Reconciliation

Aston Villa stars Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann appear to have rekindled their romance after they both shared photos of them embracing to celebrate the New Year.

The two looked into each other’s eyes and smiled while standing in a tunnel filled with white balloons in a shot shared by Lehmann on Instagram on New Year’s Day.

Then, on Tuesday afternoon, Luiz followed up with a snap of his own, showing them cuddling on his own Instagram story – with a heavily suggestive love heart emoji to boot.

Their flame seems to be relit after they reportedly split up in November 2022, with Lehmann’s flashy calendar shoot for the following year causing problems in the relationship.

Luiz had not been thrilled with her decision to partake in the shoot, leading to heated arguments between the pair after a year together, as per The Sun.

However, it appears they have settled their differences – even though Lehmann has a similar calendar out this year.

Alongside the one with just the two of them, Lehmann, 24, shared a group photo of family and friends, with Luiz’s arm around her waist.

Lehmann, a Swiss international, signed for Aston Villa Women in June 2021 and has been a key player in their top-flight battles ever since.

In December, she helped her country to a surprise 1-0 victory over World Cup semi-finalists Sweden in the Nations League – and was left with a bloodied face for her troubles after a nasty collision.

She is the most followed female footballer in the world with 16.3million fans on Instagram – dwarfing her counterpart’s one million.

But Luiz still has cause for celebration after his 89th-minute penalty against Burnley helped Unai Emery’s side to a 3-2 win to keep them firmly in Premier League title contention.

The midfielder has been one of VIlla’s standout player this season, scoring seven goals and notching five assists to fire them to second in the Premier League and into the last 16 of the Europa Conference League.
