Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise’s agent has been handed a six-month suspension for breaching rules around a contract agreed with the player’s former club Reading.
Glen Tweneboah, who remains a registered intermediary and still acts on behalf of Olise, was found to have breached Football Association rules after the player signed a three-year professional contract with Reading in 2019 summer.
Tweneboah entered into an agreement that would see him eligible for a 10% cut of Olise’s future transfer fee, though no such payment was ever mad as reported by The Athletic.
It’s a prohibited action under FA rules as only clubs and players, not agents, are able to profit from such an agreement.
Tweneboah has been handed a six-month ban which commences from 4 October 2024, meaning he can negotiate a a potential transfer for Olise this summer, and fined £15,000.

Olise graduated from Reading’s academy and signed his first professional deal in 2019.
The 22-year-old, who is valued at £60million, has had a season to remember having scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 18 Premier League appearances.
As reported by Mail Sport earlier this month, Newcastle have rekindled interest in the Eagles forward.
The FA investigation also resulted in Reading’s former chief executive Nigel Howe, academy manager Michael Gilkes and club secretary Sue Hewett also being charged.
The Royals have been handed a £200,000 fine by an independent regulatory commission for their role in the breach.
Howe has been suspended for 12 months and handed a £5000 fine.
Meanwhile, Gilkes and Hewett have been warned about their future conduct for their involvement in the matter.
