Harry Kane has been named on the bench for Bayern Munich in their German Super Cup clash with RB Leipzig on Saturday night.

The England captain only officially completed his transfer to the Bundesliga giants from Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday morning, yet could be called upon by Thomas Tuchel at the Allianz Arena.

Kane had to be registered by 2pm on the day of the game to take part, and despite late complications delaying his arrival in Munich, he was able to sign on the dotted line in time.

After finalising a four-year contract with Bayern this morning, the 30-year-old may well win his first piece of silverware in Germany before the day is out.

Kane posted an emotional goodbye message to Tottenham fans on Saturday morning, saying now was the ‘right time to leave’ after spending almost 20 years with the club.

Kane then trained with his new team-mates for the first time ahead of the Super Cup fixture against Leipzig.

Bayern have won the Super Cup a record 10 times, meaning Kane could well be in for a successful start to his time in Germany.

Tuchel’s side only won the Bundesliga title on the final day of last season, but have strengthened heavily over the summer transfer window.

The signing of Kane follows the additions of Konrad Laimer from Leipzig, Raphael Guerreiro from Borussia Dortmund and Kim Min-jae from Napoli.
