Jamie Carragher has given his verdict on Mohamed Salah’s public clash on the touchline with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp at West Ham.

There was no love lost between the Reds pair as Salah clashed with his boss prior to being brought off the bench with just minutes left at the London Stadium.

Salah later refused to speak about the clash as he claimed ‘there would be fire’ if he spoke out about the incident as Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by David Moyes’ side.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp cut a sullen figure as he refused to reveal what had been discussed but claimed the matter had been addressed.

Former Liverpool star, Carragher, has now given his opinion as to why Klopp was ‘unhappy’ and explained Salah might not have been ready to be brought on.

Taking to X, Carragher said: ‘The only reason a manager would be unhappy in this situation, is the player took too long to be ready to come on.’

Despite, Carragher’s claim, the Liverpool forward was fully dressed in the appropriate kit and had his boots on ready to enter the fray.

A video later offered a different verdict as it showed a half-hearted handshake between the pair just moments before the altercation occurred.

Defeat leaves Liverpool third in the Premier League standings, one point behind Man City who have two games in-hand, and two points adrift of Arsenal who have one game on them. 

Klopp will now play out his final three games as Liverpool manager before leaving Anfield at the end of the season.
