West Brom captain Jed Wallace gave his player of the match award to young fan Finlay in a heartwarming gesture on Saturday.

Wallace was deemed to be the standout performer as West Brom won 2-0 at home to high-flying Ipswich in the Championship.

After the game Wallace was interviewed on Sky Sports alongside his team-mate Darnell Furlong.

Furlong explained that Finlay, who is his teacher’s son, was celebrating his ninth birthday and was on hand to present Wallace with the award.

Wallace then said to Finlay that he could keep the award as a birthday present.
