‘When I was a child I was a Milan fan and I always said that one day I would play for them.

‘I always watch Serie A and every Milan match because my family and I have always been fans.

‘Serie A is a great championship and next year they will also have more teams than any other in the Champions League, maybe I will face some of them and come there.’

AC Milan are the second most successful team in Champions League history, having lifted the famous trophy on seven occasions.

The Italian giants, who finished second in Serie A this season, are only behind Real Madrid.

Real Madrid will go in search of a record-extending 15th Champions League against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley on Saturday.

Los Blancos will then be looking to add Mbappe to their ranks this summer to lead future success.

Mbappe admitted after PSG’s Coupe de France success that his heart ‘aches a little’ on his departure from the club.

‘It’s been a wonderful evening, and a wonderful season. I hope that children will continue to watch PSG.

‘We’ve tried to get people excited, to give young people the chance to play for PSG. I hope that more youngsters will want to make their mark here.’

Mbappe leaves as PSG’s all-time record goalscorer having scored 256 goals in 308 appearances over a seven-year spell.
